Based in Austin, Texas, Enable Dental is a fast-growing mobile dental chain with current operations in 16 locations across 8 U.S. States. Its ambition is to provide personalized, high-tech dental care to patients who can’t access a traditional facility—particularly people with mobility limitations, geriatric patients, and intellectually and developmentally disabled populations—while reducing stress for the caregiver by facilitating on-site treatment.
Before partnering with CareStack, Dr. Nathan Suter, the Chief Innovation Officer, knew that Enable Dental’s increased reach would come with complex operational challenges—something that their existing Practice Management System (PMS), Denticon, couldn't help them with.
Growing Operational Complexities
Enable Dental’s unique model of bringing dentists and portable technology to patients’ homes, by coordinating care across facilities, navigating reimbursements, and moving equipment, quickly outgrew their existing PMS capabilities.
Denticon’s limitations to the unique requirements of mobile dentistry posed many challenges in Enable Dental’s growth plans:
- Scaling a specialized mobile operation was difficult.
- Managing patient data across locations was inefficient.
- Route scheduling was cumbersome.
- Communication was fragmented.
- Revenue cycle management (RCM) was inconsistent, particularly for off-site care billed through various complex payor networks.
- Reports to manage and enhance care quality were unavailable.
They were actively looking for a strategic partner who understood that mobile dentistry is a fundamentally different business model.

Implementation & Onboarding
Rolling out new software across dozens of mobile units was no small task. CareStack University was activated for Enable Dental, while ensuring seamless data migration, customized workflows, and thorough training, minimizing disruption to patient care.
1. Training and Launch Plans
With the first launch in January 2022, the entire rollout process was planned in phases, wherein CareStack’s training team worked with Enable Dental to identify the different user groups to create customized training plans for each group.
Spanning a total of 11 phases, the implementation included 3 conversions from Denticon, while the remaining were all De Novo implementations. CareStack completed the entire onboarding process by February 2025 across all locations.
2. Self-Paced Trials
Users were provided with a trial environment specifically designed for their functional roles, which significantly improved their confidence and readiness to switch to the new system.
3. CareStack University
Custom workflows and training plans were tailored to each functional role, replacing multiple third-party tools and ensuring a smooth rollout.
